Jasmeen Manzoor is a Pakistani female journalist and an anchor working at SAMAA TV. Previously, she has worked on PTV and later on Business Plus.
Early Life & Education
Jasmeen Manzoor, one of the leading anchors of SAMAA TV was born in Karachi, Pakistan. She did her Masters in International Relations and has started her career as an anchor on Pakistan Television in 1999.She worked as producer and talk show host on different private TV channels. In March 2010, Jasmeen started hosting SAMAA TV's most admired current affair program called Tonight with Jasmeen. This program is aired Monday to Thursday from 10:03pm-11:00pm.[1] Jasmeen has also made informative documentaries on different subjects and has received four awards for her exceptional work, one of which was the Benazir Excellence Award for Best Female Anchor in Pakistan in the year 2009.
Controversy with MQM
In July,2013 Jasmin Manzoor claimed that she is receiving life threats from Muttahida Qaumi Movement.Jasmeen Manzoor has left Karachi after receiving life threats.Jasmeen has arranged various programme against a Karachi based political party, after which unknown persons kept on threatening her.Nevertheless, Jasmeen has been avoiding naming that party.Prime MinisterNawaz Sharif has called in over 90 journalists across the country to brief them about his energy policy.During the briefing, Jasmeen burst into tear saying that she has receiving life threats inKarachi and has left Karachi.Jasmeen hosts a show on SAMAA TV;however, she claims that her organization is not favoring her on the issue.After hearing the account of Jasmeen, who is seen very vocal on her show, Nawaz Sharif said that he would consider about law and order situation in the metropolis.
